Training and Communications Coordinator
Lori has extensive professional experience in developing both creative and innovative ways to communicate and market the mission and services of non-profits to families, youth, professionals, donors and the general public. Her professional training includes undergraduate degrees in Communications and Psychology, Fire Fighting, a State of MN secondary teaching license and a Master of Science degree in Teaching. Drawn to the creative aspect of developing ideas into platforms of communication she has pursued a diverse work and educational experience to gather perspectives from different groups of people. To do this she has worked in sexual violence, transitional housing, domestic violence, facilitating non-violence groups for men who batter, broadcast media, severe physical/mental disabilities, online teaching and as a substitute teacher, city bus driver, communications, training, video production, housekeeping, graphic designer and as a cashier. She volunteers with Men as Peacemakers doing domestic violence sentencing circles and co-facilitates Men who use violence groups at the Domestic Abuse Intervention Programs . Lori is focused on learning effective and non-traditional ways to communicate and build marketing campaigns as she believes this experience leads to a broader network of philosophies that can reach deeper into the community being served.
