Forensic Interview & Support Services

First Witness Child Abuse Resource Center offers comprehensive services for victims of child abuse and their families. Professionals involved in the investigation, assessment and prosecution of abuse work as a multidisciplinary team, placing the interests of children first.

THE INTERVIEW PROCESS INCLUDES:

Child-friendly, recorded forensic interviews conducted in a comfortable, child-appropriate setting at the First Witness Child Abuse Resource Center.
The multidisciplinary team includes personnel involved in investigation, assessment, intervention, support and prosecution.
The First Witness medical team is made up of doctors who have had specialized training in performing exams for suspected sexual abuse. Our members also specialize in physical abuse injuries such as neurological injuries, eye injuries/retinal hemorrhages, shaken baby syndrome and others.

OTHER SERVICES INCLUDE:

Crisis counseling.

Interim support for families and children.

Provide nationwide assistance in the investigation of child abuse cases.

Resource materials and intervention services for abused children and their families, including a parent support group.

Information and referral, crisis intervention, criminal justice support and advocacy.

Facilitation of monthly meetings of the multidisciplinary team.

Case reviews and consultations.

Prevention education programs for children's groups and professionals.
